i have several questions.
pokemon
how much control does the pokemon league have over gyms? the anime has two gym leaders fucking off and not doing their job pretty much immediately. brock leaves other people in charge, who may or may not have the skill or even the pokemon to battle with, and misty's sisters outright refuse to battle, preferring to just hand over badges for free so they can spend time performing. the pokemon league certifies gyms, but do they not have regulations about how they're run? the anime does at least know ash's first two badges were bullshit, it's not naive. there's also the academy, that counts for badges.
furthermore, who actually owns the gyms, anyway?
what is the coin on meowth's head, biologically speaking? it can't be some kind of horn or antler, because in season 1 of the anime, in the southern slave owner bdsm episode, pikachu pulls on it, showing that the coin seems to be attached to meowth's skin rather than his skull.
